SHL建筑事务所和Perkins&Will联合设计的北京城市副中心剧院“北京艺术中心”项目，被世界最具影响力的建筑设计媒体Dezeen和ArchDaily 同时评为2023年度最期待建成的建筑。

北京城市副中心剧院“北京艺术中心”坐落于通州城市绿心森林公园内，屹立在“世界文化遗产”京杭大运河畔。
The new Beijing Green Heart Grand Theatre, nested in the lush sub-center of Beijing, China, is one of many high profile wins produced by the combined studio of Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects and Perkins&Will.

通州自古以来便是南北漕运的交通要道和入京的重要门户。古代的通州粮仓担负着为京城储粮的重任，来自南方的各种物资在进京前都在此中转。
The Tongzhou District of Beijing was an important point of trade along the Grand Canal. As goods came from the south up into Beijing they were sorted and stored in large storehouse structures ready to be moved when required downtown.

设计以“文化粮仓”为立意，将通州历史上占有重要地位的古粮仓概念演绎为当代运河边的“文化容器”。
The project weaves the history and cultural tapestry of the site into new forms by sculpting monolithic volumes which resemble historical storehouses that once occupied the banks of the Grand Canal as it leads into the Chinese capital.

剧院极具动感的曲面造型和屋顶轮廓，既是对通州古粮仓屋面曲线的写意勾勒，也抽象再现了古运河上运输船只扬帆远航的盛况。
The dynamic folding facade and roof not only refer back to the roof curve of the ancient Tongzhou storehouses, but also abstractly reproduce the grand occasion of transportation vessel sailing on the ancient canal.

北京城市副中心剧院总面积达12.53万平方米，高度接近50米，构成剧院的三个建筑体量由一个共享的平台层串联起来，包含歌剧院、戏剧厅和音乐厅。
With a GFA of over 120,000 square meters and height close to 50 meters, connected by a platform, the three buildings each house a different type of performance venue, such as a Concert Hall, Opera House and Playhouse.

该建筑是北京城市副中心绿心三大建筑中体量规模最大，空间结构最复杂、系统设计最多样、科技含量最高的建筑项目。
Among the three major cultural buildings in Beijing's sub-center, the Grand Theater is the largest, with the most complex structure, the most diverse building systems and the most advanced technology.
建成后的剧院除了能够满足国内外最高级别的大型歌剧、舞剧和音乐剧演出外，还能够承接各式各样的综艺晚会。
Sitting along the banks of the UNESCO Heritage listed site, the project desires to revive the bustling waterfront and provide spaces for valuable interactions and world-class performances.
北京城市副中心剧院“文化粮仓”是SHL建筑事务所和Perkins&Will正式联盟后的众多合作项目之一。该项目于2018赢得国际竞赛，目前已结构封顶，预计于2023年对公众开放。
The project is one of many high profile wins produced by the combined studio of Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects and Perkins&Will. Won in international competition in 2018, the Grand Theatre will welcome its first visitors in 2023.
